Historic trade routes brought together a remarkable mix of art objects now found in the Museum's collection. Blue and white porcelains, Islamic tiles, Talavera ceramics, coffee, tea, and chocolate vessels will all be featured in this tour focusing on global commerce. Meets any Social Studies, Fine Art, and Asian Language Cultural and Linguistic 3–12 TEKS. Ideal for all ages/grade levels. K–12 School Tours are free for students and chaperones.
Things to Know
- Guided tours are 50 minutes long.
- The Museum can accommodate up to 60 K–12 visitors per time slot. Please be aware that your initial choice for a tour time may already be taken.
- Special accommodations will be made for larger groups.
- For tours involving K–12 students, at least 2 chaperones are required per 10 students.
- Chaperones must be 18 years or older.
- Two-week advance reservation is required.
- Please review Group Responsibilities and Guidelines before arrival.
- Students, teachers, and chaperones will be admitted to the Museum for free. Admission fees for special exhibitions may apply.
- Please check in at front desk upon arrival.
Accommodations
- Outdoor lunch spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.
- Alternate lunch plans are advisable in the event of inclement weather.
- We offer bilingual tour guides upon request.
