Chemistry, geometry, mathematics, physics, and optics meet fine art in this exciting tour. Explore how scientific concepts are expressed in art and how artists utilize materials and technology to create their works. This tour meets many Math, Science, and Fine Arts K–12 TEKS, and is ideal for Math, Physical Science, and Fine Art K–12 curricula. K–12 tours are free for students and chaperones.
Things to Know
- Guided tours are 50 minutes long.
- The Museum can accommodate up to 60 K–12 visitors per time slot. Please be aware that your original choice for a tour time may already be taken.
- Special accommodations will be made for larger groups.
- For tours involving K–12 students, at least 2 chaperones are required per 10 students.
- Chaperones must be 18 years or older.
- Two-week advance reservation is required.
- Please review Group Responsibilities and Guidelines before arrival.
- Students, teachers, and chaperones will be admitted to the Museum for free. Admission fees for special exhibitions may apply.
- Please check in at front desk upon arrival.
Accommodations
- Outdoor lunch spaces (grassy areas and areas with tables and chairs) are available on a first come, first served basis.
- Alternate lunch plans are advisable in the event of inclement weather.
- We offer bilingual tour guides upon request.
