Private Schools and Homeschoolers

Make the Museum your classroom with a school tour led by one of our knowledgeable docents. Guided tours will last 50 minutes. Pick from one of our many themes below or create your own to align with your curriculum.

Two weeks' advance reservation is required. For docent-led tours the Museum can accommodate up to 80 students per time slot. Larger groups will need to book two time slots back-to-back on the date of their visit. Self-guided tours can accommodate up to 60 students.

Pricing:

Students: Admission is free for all Texas students. For out-of-state schools and third party travel agencies, please email tours@samuseum.org for pricing.

Chaperones: Tour groups are required to have one chaperone per 10 students. Chaperones must be 18 or older and may include teachers, staff, and parents. (No students as chaperones, please.) Any adult supervising a group of students must arrive and check-in at the same time as the group. A discounted admission of $14 (guided) or $12 (self-guided) will apply to all chaperones; chaperones who are also SAMA Members will be comped for one admission per membership only; $3 admission will be honored for ONE chaperone with a valid SNAP card.

Parking: Paid, public parking is available across the street from the Museum.
