First Tuesday: Friends of Winter Calligraphy

Dec 02, 5:00 PM–7:00 PM

Great Hall

Ticket Price: Free

Celebrate the arrival of cooler weather in San Antonio with the Three Friends of Winter!

The Three Friends of Winter—bamboo, pine, and plum—is a common motif in the art of East Asia, including China, Korea, and Japan, with each of the plants representing strength and resilience. For our last First Tuesday of the year, try your hand at creating a work of Chinese calligraphy while you enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate!

Tuesdays at SAMA are free to Bexar County residents and packed with programming for visitors of all ages. Check the calendar for a full schedule of performances, artmaking, tours, lectures, and more.

First Tuesdays and Tuesday Bexar County Residents Free General Admission Hours are generously funded by the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.
