Animals, real and imagined, figure prominently in the art of Ancient Greece and Rome. Beyond being used as decorative motifs, animals played a symbolic role in the lives of Greece and Rome and took part in describing the world as they knew it. Discover some of the stories and connections that people made surrounding animals in the ancient past.

 

Guide dogs, sighted companions, and others are welcome, as are wheelchairs and other walking aids.
