It is undeniable that the ancient Egyptians had a close connection with the animal world as seen through their creation of animal mummies. This talk will highlight the examination and treatment of the ancient Egyptian cat mummy currently housed in the Museum’s Egyptian collection.  

This lunchtime Conservator Chat is with Dr. Sarah Schellinger, who specializes in the art and archaeology of ancient Egypt and Nubia, and Mimi Leveque, Director of ArchaeaTechnica Conservation Services, who has worked for over 40 years on the examination and conservation of Egyptian mummies and coffins.
