Celebrate Black History Month with San Antonio Poet Laureate Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson. Vocab will present an ekphrastic poetry reading and dance performance inspired by Bill Traylor’s artwork in the SAMA collection. Following the performance, we will screen Bill Traylor: Chasing Ghosts (2014), a documentary about the self-taught artist’s life and work directed by Jeffrey Wolf. The film’s run time is 1 hour, 15 minutes. Content warning: violence against Black people, slavery, lynching, and racial slurs.
