Free with Museum admission

Spend some quality time with artworks during Slow Art Day— a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover the joy of look at and loving art. Use a slow-looking activity sheet from the Information Desk to guide your experience or attend a 30-minute staff-led activity.

11:00 a.m. | Anatomy of an Artwork
Dissect a piece of artwork by breaking down its formal and informal qualities.

1:00 p.m. | Explain it with Emojis
Use emojis to describe your observations, feelings and conclusions about an artwork. Bring your emoji-ready smartphone or tablet.

2:00 p.m. | Strike a Pose
Connect with an artwork by physically positioning yourself as the sitter. How does it feel? What do you think the artist successfully or unsuccessfully captured? Selfies and creative captions will be encouraged!

3:00 p.m. | Superlatives
Which artwork wins best dressed? Most likely to be president? Class clown? Decide for yourself in this interactive gallery game of Superlatives.

This event is part of the annual global event Slow Art Day.
