The SAMA Great Books discussions series continues with an essay by one of America''''''''''''''''s greatest modern art critics, Clement Greenberg. In "Avante-Garde and Kitsch", Greenberg marvels at how one culture is able to produce both a Tin Pan Alley song and a T.S. Eliot poem.  His reflections will serve as a springboard for a lively conversation about the modern and contemporary art in the Museum''''''''''''''''s collection, including the current Matisse exhibition.
