The San Antonio Museum of Art announces the election of John D. Eadie as chairman of the Board of Trustees, effective October 1, 2013. Eadie has served on the Museum’s Board for the last twelve years, most recently as chairman of the finance committee.
“He’s the right Chairman at the right time,” said Katie Luber, Director of the Museum, “His long history of philanthropic engagement with many San Antonio charities and his connections with the business community of San Antonio will make him an effective and strong leader for the museum.”
Mr. Eadie is the managing director of Covenant Multifamily Offices. Prior to founding Covenant in 2010, he led Frost National Bank’s Wealth Management Services. He has lengthy experience assisting families with their investment, wealth transfer planning, family governance and philanthropic strategies.
In addition to his work with the museum, Mr. Eadie serves as a member of the advisory committee for San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries (SAMM) and is on the board of visitors at Berry College
“San Antonio is a better place because of the Museum, but we are just getting started,” said Mr. Eadie. “Our fantastic board, the development of the Museum Reach, the Broadway expansion, the happenings at The Pearl are allowing the San Antonio Museum of Art to secure its place as the cultural hub for this part of town.”
Mr. Eadie succeeds Karen Hixon who has served as the Board Chair for the last eight years. “I have enjoyed my tenure. The future is so very bright, and I am so pleased to be turning the reins over to John Eadie,” said Mrs. Hixon. “Change is good!”
The San Antonio Museum of Art is housed in the historic Lone Star Brewery on the Museum Reach of the San Antonio Riverwalk. The collection contains more than 25,000 works representing 5,000 years of history and cultures from around the world.
