Texas Public Radio’s David Martin Davies talks with Katie Luber on KLRN 9.1, December 1, Thursday 8 pm

On December 1, Thursday 8 pm on KLRN 9.1, Texas Public Radio’s David Martin Davies talks with Ms. Luber to find out what she brings to her new position, and where she sees SAMA as going.

About Katie Luber

She’s worked in museums as far-flung as Houston, Philadelphia, New York City and Vienna. But now Katie Luber returns to her home state to run the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA).

What are her plans for the city’s 30 year-old Art asset? First, she wants to be sure every San Antonian knows about the museum, and that everyone comes for a visit.

Pursuant to that, Tuesday’s from 4-9PM, everyone gets in free. Talk about a bargain! Texas Public Radio’s David Martin Davies talks with Ms. Luber to find out what she brings to her new position, and where she sees SAMA as going.

SAMA will also stay open on Friday and Saturday evenings until 9:00 pm

Now there are two more evenings to enjoy the internationally regarded collections and the cuisine of Café des Artistes: the Museum's celebrated restaurant on the banks of the San Antonio River.

In an effort to respond to visitor requests for additional evening hours, the San Antonio Museum of Art will stay open until 9:00 on two additional nights. In addition to the Museum's longstanding HEB Free Tuesdays, effective Friday, September 2, SAMA will also stay open on Friday and Saturday evenings until 9:00 pm.

Note: SAMA will be closed on the following Saturdays at 5:00 pm due to a holiday or private event: 12/24, 12/31, 1/21, 4/14, and 6/2.
