The aptly named Café des Artistes, is distinctive among the cultural institutions in San Antonio becoming almost a "destination" unto itself. In addition to featuring a café terrace for outdoor dining, the restaurant is a place where one can order anything from homemade soups, sandwiches and salads to roast leg of lamb, ceviche and frittatas. Café des Artistes is also a particularly enjoyable place to enjoy weekend brunch.
Hours are:
Wednesday through Thursday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Friday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday: noon to 3 p.m.
However, to coincide with the museum's extended hours "Free Tuesday" program, the café is open until 9 p.m. on Tuesday nights.
