Join the San Antonio Museum of Art for a celebration of author, Rick Riordan!  Riordan's presentation and Q&A about his new young adult book The Heroes of Olympus, Book 3: The Mark of Athena will take place in SAMA's outdoor West Courtyard.  The first 750 attendees will receive a free Camp Half-blood or Camp Jupiter t-shirt.

To allow Rick time to speak and answer as many questions as possible he will have pre-signed The Mark of Athena for this event.  Pre-signed books will be distributed by The Twig bookstore at SAMA.  There will not be a traditional signing line.

Purchase tickets and a signed copy of The Mark of Athena below, (available until noon, October 12) or you may purchase a pre-signed book on the day of the event in the SAMA Shop providing we haven't sold out in advance.

FAQs

1) How early should I get there?
Check-in begins at 5 pm.  Seating is open.  Bring blankets to sit on.  Lawn chairs and picnics are welcome, and food trucks will be on site.  Before or after the event, visit SAMA's Roman Art gallery to see a sculpture of Athena or visit SAMA's special exhibition Aphrodite and the Gods of Love.

2) How can I ask Rick a question during the Q&A? Questions for the Q&A can be submitted at check-in.  A selection of questions will be read during the Q&A portion of the program.

3) Can I get my book personalized or a photo taken with Rick? Due to a very busy schedule, and as we're anticipating quite a large attendance, Rick will not able to personalize books or pose individually for pictures (though you are free to take as many pictures of him as you'd like!).

4) Will Rick be able to sign any of my books? Rick will only have enough time to pre-sign his new book Mark of Athena, so lighten your load and leave your old books at home!

5) Do we have to purchase a ticket and a book to attend the event? Tickets are required to attend this event and available for purchase through SAMA's website ONLY.  Tickets are not available for purchase in-store, over the phone, or at the door.
